Kgotso makgalema biography for kids

Kgotso Makgalema is a South African singer from Johannesburg. He was one of the Top 30 contestants on the SABC2 reality television competition I Want to Sing Gospel in 2008.

Here are 3 videos (one with lyrics, 2 performed live) of his hit song ‘Messiah.’

Here’s a video with embedded lyrics, followed by the lyrics in the Sotho language and an English translation:

(Sung in Sotho)

Monhadi, Messiah, tshela moya o halalelang (Lord, Messiah, pour the Holy Spirit into us)
Monhadi, Messiah, tshela moya o halalelang (Lord, Messiah, pour the Holy Spirit into us)
Monhadi, Messiah, tshela moya o halalelang (Lord, Messiah, pour the Holy Spirit into us)

Monhadi, Messiah, tshela moya o halalelang (Lord, Messiah, pour the Holy Spirit into us)
Monhadi, Messiah, tshela moya o halalelang (Lord, Messiah, pour the Holy Spirit into us)
Monhadi, Messiah, tshela moya o halalelang (Lord, Messiah, pour the Holy Spirit into us)

tshela moya, tshela moya, tshela moya o halelalang
(pour down spirit, pour down spirit, pour down the Holy Spirit)
tshela moya, tshela moya, tshela moya o halelalang
(pour down spirit, pour down spirit, pour down the Holy Spirit)
tshela moya, tshela moya, tshela moya o halelalang
(pour down spirit, pour down spirit, pour down the Holy Spirit)
tshela moya, tshela moya, tshela moya o halelalang
(pour down spirit, pour down spirit, pour down the Holy Spirit)
(Repeat)

Finally, here’s another live version with plenty of dancing and movements from the large crowd, presumably related to the lyrical phrase “Pour down the Holy Spirit.”

Thanks to Kimberly Holmes for pointing out this song to me. She and her team will use it soon in the Unity One event, an annual multicultural worship event.
