Chris Daughtry, born Christopher Adam Daughtry on December 26, 1979, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, is an American rock guitarist, Grammy-nominated singer, and songwriter. He gained recognition when he finished fourth on the music show "American Idol" on May 10, 2006.
Early Years
Chris Daughtry developed a passion for music at the age of 16 and began his professional career as a musician. In school, he performed with various rock bands and was influenced by artists such as Bush, Live, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Journey, Bon Jovi, and Fuel. During his school years, Chris was the lead vocalist and guitarist for the band "Cadence," and in 1999, they released an album titled "All Eyes on You." He also worked with the band "The Absent Element" as their lead vocalist and guitarist, and they released an album called "Uprooted" in 2005.
