Aashna patel biography sample

Aashna Patel was born in Bombay, India, in When she was 3 years old, her parents immigrated with her to Canada. So, Aashna grew up a Canadian child.

Aashna displayed many talents growing up, including dancing and singing. When she was 16, she performed Indian dancing at the Expo `86 celebrations.

It would be until that Aashna would start to become a celebrity. She would be a host on the Canadian youth channel YTV, as PJ Aashna, on The Breakfast Zone. Over the next few years she would become a household name with YTV viewers who would see her all the time, as she moved up the ladder to land on Shift (evening-oriented shows) by the mids.

In , Aashna fulfilled a dream that she said took 8 years to fulfill: she recorded her first album. AASHNA was recorded in Toronto and released on MCA Records Canada. Filled with dance/club, pop, modern R&B and ballads, AASHNA would become a big hit on Canada's #1 music countdown show, THE HIT LIST, with the singles "Not Asking For The World" and "A-ya" (both released with lavish full-length music videos). Aashna had high hopes for her CD, as fellow Canadian Alanis Morissette become a huge international star from her roots on a small Canadian television show; however, so far, AASHNA has not officially been released outside of Canada.

Ironically, Aashna's next move up on YTV would be to co-host the show THE HIT LIST, and the rising singer would interview her favorite bands and artists like Janet Jackson, The Backstreet Boys, and Aqua. (She's not yet interviewed her big idol, Madonna.)

Aashna continues to rise, surely, to the top. Her unique voice and irresistable personality, not-to-mention her beautiful model-worthy looks will bring her to international stardom soon enough.

Aashna appeared on the cover of CANADIAN MASALA magazine in Summer

Kamasutra (Aashna, Dodson, Breithaupt)

Produced by Rich Dodson

An awesome CD that contains irresistable dance/pop (ie. "Not Asking For The World", "Gimme Gimme", "A-ya", etc.), wonderful and sensual ballads with an influence of R&B (like "U Belong 2 Me" and "Endlessly") and songs much influenced by Indian music ("Jaani, "Kamasutra"). Aashna's voice is terrific; it's clear and sweet and wraps itself around the words of these songs. Greatly produced and performed, AASHNA shows the singer's definate potential in the music business, displaying great flare, pizzazz, personality, and that voice.

The lovely Aashna performing.
