Interview with Fab Ciraolo
Based in Santiago, Chile, illustrator Fab Ciraolo creates beautiful illustrations/collages incorporating different elements of pop culture and fashion. In his works he combines things that usually would not go together, disney characters, girls, skulls, bears and nudity, but in his works it looks like they belonged together all along. Fab Ciraolo is an amazing artist and extremely talented, that’s why we choose him as our interview guest this week. Read our interview with Fab Ciraolo after the jump.
By the way, you can buy prints of Ciraolo’s works right here on ARTFLAKES.
Why and when did you start making art?
Art is my life, since I was little I was drawing all day, and I never stop till now, when I was 10 years old I sold my first paint… then I realice I can do this for a living.
What kind of art do you make?
My kind, taking looks of everything. I think is a mix of painting, collage and digital retouching. Although I do a lot of canvas painting. Never want to lose that good thing of painting on canvas. just love it. Is hard to define it, is a mix up of a lot of tendencies, but always changing from time to time
One can find in a lot of your works Disney elements and characters. Are you a Disney buff?
Well, I used to go to the cinema with my father when I was little, to see all these movies, I was amazed with the backgrounds, the colors… And always say that when I grow up…I will work in Disney but if they see my work I don’t think they will like what I am doing whit their characters!!!
Where do you draw your inspiration from? What influences you and your work?
I inspire of everything, a good song, things I saw on the street, photographs… everything’s works for me, I try to not do something similar to other artists.
